5 Year LL.B

This is an Integrated Double Degree Program leading to B.A.,LL. B. where students are taught Social Sciences and Standard Legal subjects parallely.Practicals include Seminar and Clinical Legal (Clinical Legal Education is a combination of classroom teaching and Assignments.) Education papers of semesters, paper on Local Language in sixth semester and practical training papers of semesters I, II, III , IV and X.

Requirements:
For the award of 5 Year B.A. LL.B Degree, the candidate shall be required to have

  • Received instruction and training for the prescribed course of study as full-time students for five academic years, and
  • Passed all the examinations prescribed for the award of 5 Year B.A. LL.B Integrated Double Degree Course.

  • Duration:
  • 5 Year Double Degree LL.B Integrated Course has to be pursued in ten semesters stretching over five academic years. Each academic year comprises of two Semesters.
  • Prohibition against lateral entry and exit. There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated double degree course, at any intermediary stage of integrated double degree course.
  • 3 Year LL.B

    This program enables graduates to qualify for practice of legal profession as well as creates opportunities in Judiciary, Professional firms, Corporates, educational institutions. Students are taught standard legal subjects (includes practical training papers of Seminar and Clinical Legal Education); providing sample exposure by interacting with senior lawyers and visiting various organizations.

    Requirements:
    For the award of 3 year LL.B. Degree, a candidate shall be required to have :

  • Received instruction and training for the prescribed course of study as full-time students for three academic years, and
  • Passed all the examinations prescribed for the award of 3 Year LL.B. Degree.

  • Duration:
  • 3 Year LL.B Degree Course has to be pursued in six semesters stretching over three academic years. Each academic year comprises of two Semesters.

  • The Master of Laws program offers extensive coverage allowing students to complement their professional expertise and enhance their career pathway.
  • Lawyers and other professionals will deepen their understanding of many aspects of law in key areas.Duration of this Program is 2 years, each academic year comprises of two semesters.
  • All LL.B/B.L graduates are eligible for admission subject to the rules framed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh form time to time.
  • Attendance:
    In order to be eligible to take the examination in any subject, candidate is required to put in 75% of attendance in each subject which includes lectures, tutorials and practical training. If a student for any exceptional reason fails to attend 75% of the classes held in any subject, he/she may be condoned for the shortage of attendance if the student concerned attended at least 66% of the classes held in the subject concerned subject to the payment of the fine prescribed from time to time by the University.

    Credits: For 3 years LLB Course

  • All papers carry Six Credits each except the Paper on Seminar and Clinical Legal Education which carries only two credits. Total credits of the LL.B (3 Years) Course are 178.
  • All papers carry Ten Credits each except the Paper on Seminar and Clinical Legal Education which carries only two credits. Total credits of the B.A.LL.B( 5 Years) are 282.
  • Classification:

  • Distinction --- CGPA 8.0 or more
  • I Class --- CGPA 6.5 or more but less than 8.0
  • II Class --- CGPA 5.5 or more but less than 6.5
  • Pass --- CGPA 5.0 or more but less than 5.5
  • CGPA x 10 will be the overall percentage of the marks obtained by the candidate. CGPA means Cumulative Grade Point Average. It will be calculated from 2nd semester onwards.
    SGPA means Semester Grade Point Average. This is calculated for each semester of the programme.
